About Me: Jamie with JK Photos

Tri-Cities, WA Branding and Lifestyle Photographer

I am on a mission.

I’m on a mission to change the way women see themselves and inspire them to love their bodies and their lives.

I help every woman who steps in front of my lens feel empowered, seen, and beautiful and help catapult them onto a journey toward self-love.

I uplift the women around me and foster a community of women supporting women.

I support entrepreneurs and small business owners chase their passions and build the business of their dreams.

I’m a part of the movement that smashes societal beauty standards, stops forcing women to compete, and allows us all to step into our own unique power while cheering each other on.

I want nothing more than to help you feel gorgeous and loved.

I think societal beauty standards are bullshit, and I truly believe that everybody - and every body - is stunning.

You want to be sure to pick the right photographer for you.

Here are some signs that we will (or maybe won’t…) be a great fit to work together.

We will be a great fit if…

You’re ready to embrace your beauty
You want to get beautiful images but also want to have some fun
You’re ready to grow
You want to lean into your unique qualities.
You understand that you’re worthy of investing in yourself
You’re ready to stop doubting yourself
You believe that love is love and we all deserve a spot at the table
You’re willing to put in the work

o Branding photos require pre-work to figure out your stories

o Retreats require heartwork and vulnerability to grow.

We might not be a good fit if…

You’re not ready to put in the work
You don’t want to invest in yourself and your growth
You’re not willing to work with someone who donates to organizations that support people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community
You’re looking for extremely photoshopped images/want a photographer who’s going to change your natural appearance

JK Photos Client Testimonials

  • Angela, Self-Love Portrait Client

“I highly recommend booking Jamie for your photoshoot needs. Not only is she very professional she is awesome to work with. We did a spooky birthday shoot and I had so much fun! We bounced ideas off of each other and came up with some pretty amazing photos. She is very talented and I would book her again for future shoots.”

  • Blackthorne Pub, Branding Client

“I don't even know where to start; Your smile is infectious. You bring so much warmth to every room you walk into. It's impossible not to let some of that warmth rub off. Our first meet was like hanging with an old friend and by the time we left, we had a plan, but didn't feel like we'd done any actual work. I hate having my photos taken and often feel frumpy, however, our sessions leave me feeling like a goddess. Your encouragement should be bottled and sold in stores!”

  • Josie, Branding Client

“If you are looking for some branding photos or even family photos, I would recommend Jamie in a heartbeat. She creates an atmosphere where you feel comfortable. She is willing to listen and works to capture the look you are going for.“

  • Daydream Division, Product Client

“It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders, and has elevated the online presence of [my] business so much! I was able to get featured in a gift guide for the holidays, I know one of the main factors were the products photos I received and used!. Huge game changer”

  • Holly, Branding Client

“I felt a lot more comfortable than I anticipated while being photographed. Jamie came prepared with poses and ideas, while at the same time allowing me to incorporate my own and even tweaked them to make sure they were just right. It was a lot of fun and her friendly, laid back personality was a perfect fit to make me feel like my natural self.”

Why Photography?

I grew up with the same pressures of all little girls:

  • Pretty girls get favored, be prettier.

  • It’s important to be thin, get skinnier.

  • Don’t be too thin, that’s a problem, eat a cheeseburger.

  • Being loud is a bad thing, don’t speak out.

  • Make others comfortable, dim your light.

And all the other “rules” of being female. Except none of them ever sat right with me. I knew there was more. I was raised by strong, independent Mexican-American women who were the backbones of their families. I was an empathetic, emotional, observant human with a creative streak and a rebellious spirit, and I was ready to conquer the world.

I just didn’t know what that would look like.

Jamie Kincaid, Tri-Cities Branding & Lifestyle Photographer, standing on the beach with the ocean behind her, kicking her leg up in the air with her hands up high.

My mom knew this about me, and she bought me my first camera. I spent my youth documenting every moment of my life, creating hundreds of photos of the things I loved, but never considering that I could follow that into a career.

I grew up, worked full time, went to college, married the love of my life, had a baby, got my corporate job. All in that order. But something was missing. I felt trapped in my desk job, looking at spreadsheets and never getting the chance to be creative or artistic.

Until friends started asking me to take their pictures. A coworker’s son was graduating, could I take his senior photos? A friend was having her first baby, could I get maternity pictures? Another friend’s mom wanted family pictures, could I do those? They wanted me to capture their lives, to make them feel beautiful.

It changed everything.

I fell into branding photography in 2019 and it stole my heart. Then I started offering Self-Love portraits as a way to combat all those negative things we’ve been taught about how we’re supposed to feel about our bodies, and those stole my heart too. That’s when I decided to narrow down what I was doing (which was ALL THE THINGS) to Branding Photography and Women’s Portraits.

Over a decade, 3 jobs, and hundreds of photoshoots later, I finally took the advice of the people who love me most and quit my shitty job to pursue this full-time. It was like a weight being lifted off my shoulders.

That was in 2022, and here I am, still chasing this dream.
